Vicky wins inaugural Brisbane Airport Barista competition
We are thrilled to announce that Barista Vicky Juan from our Hudsons Coffee Brisbane Airport International store won the inaugural Brisbane Airport Barista Competition held on site at the airport on 20th November 2015.
Vicky was nominated by the Hudsons Coffee team to compete against 17 other baristas from other retailers within both the international and domestic terminals at Brisbane Airport.
Vicky progressed through the first round to go on to compete against the five other top scorers in the final. Competitors were each given a coffee order from the judges to test their technical skills and speed. Following this, all competitors presented a designer beverage showcasing their latte art skills and creativity.
The judging panel consisted of one technical and two sensory judges, including the co-founder of Wolff Coffee Roasters, Penny Wolff. Vicky demonstrated her well-honed barista skills and passion to win herself a $2,500 flight and cash passport prize from the Airport.
Vicky has been with Hudsons Coffee for 14 months and in that time has developed her barista skills.
To be now recognised as `Brisbane Airport’s best Barista for 2015’ is a fantastic accolade.
A big congratulations go to Vicky and the team at Hudsons Coffee Brisbane International Airport.
